The Foundation Center’s Nonprofit Entrepreneurship: Meeting Mission by Making Money is a four part webinar series that explores going beyond grants, fundraisers and endowments to show you what you need to know to get a business venture started for your nonprofit. The instructor is Richard Brewster, Executive Director of the National Center on Nonprofit Enterprise.

#1 – Setting the Stage: Are You Ready To Start Earing Revenue
When: July 23, 2013 at 9-10:30am or 1-2:30pm
You will learn:
- How to identify the best sources of nonprofit revenue
- The different types of earned revenue that nonprofits can use to support their mission
- The advantages and risks in earning revenue
- What makes a nonprofit successful at charging fees and generating business income
- How to assess whether your nonprofit is ready to charge a fee or set up a business activity
#2 – Exploring Opportunities and Assets for Generating Revenue
When: July 23, 2013 at 11am-12:30pm or 3-4:30pm
You will learn:
- How the relationship between your nonprofit and your clients or customers works
- How to audit your nonprofit for assets you can leverage to create benefits for clients or customers and earn income
- Identify connections between markets and mission opportunities
#3 – Determining Your Money-Making Activities
When: July 25, 2013 at 9-10:30am or 1-2:30pm
You will learn:
- How to decide which of your market and mission opprotunities are the most promising
- How to assess each opportunity in detail to decide whether it is feasible
#4 – Planning and Executing Your Money-Making Activites
When: July 25, 2013 at 11am-12:30pm or 3-4:30pm
You will learn:
- We will look at how to create a plan to successfully execute your money-making activites
- How to create a business plan for your chosen opportunity (charging a fee or embarking on a commercial activity)
- How nonprofit leaders can manage the organizational change that comes with charging fees or running a business
